SHAH ALAM, Nov 18 (Bernama) — The public can obtain the declassified investigation report on the Taman Bukit Mewah, Bukit Antarabangsa landslide which caused five deaths and millions in damages, on Monday said Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim Wednesday.

Khalid who used provisions under Section 2(c) of the Official Secrets Act (OSA) which allows ministers and mentris besar to declassify documents, said the public can obtain the report at the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) at a reasonable cost, starting Monday.

The report on the tragedy that occurred on Dec 6 last year, was prepared by the Public Works Department (PWD) and handed to MPAJ while the state government which received the report, decided to make it available to the public.

“For the public who want to know the reason for the tragedy, we will also give out a summarized copy of the report for free,” Khalid told reporters after chairing a weekly state executive council meeting at the state secretariat building here today.

Khalid said the main factor of the landslide which damaged 14 bungalows, was due to leakages of active water supply pipes that had been installed along abandoned houses.
